"Yes if Daddy catches you it will be the end for all of us. No more parties or merboys can you think of anything worse Alana?" Arista said putting her blonde hair up.

Adella, like her sisters, went to fix herself for the ceremony, styling her hair in a combination of an up-do and a down-do. She held it together with a seashell hair comb, colored green to match her usual colors. She had an idea and quickly retrieved her pearl earrings from Attina's bag. She hooked them to the hair comb and adjusted them so that only the pearls showed between the seashells.
"How does this look?" She asked her sisters.

"I approve." Alana smiled gently, thought sighing sadly. She mourned her beautiful broach that had been in Ariel's bag. "Just hope that dad doesn't get close enough to realize that it's man-made. You just saw how he deals with such things..." She was finally finished with Attina's haiir. "There... all ready for the the coronation. It looks beautiful without a crown... but a crown will just set it off glowing BEAUTIFULLY." She gave Attina's shoulder an encouraging squeeze and then swam back to her own vanity mirror made of coral and shell.
She sighed at her reflection. She fiddled with her hair for a moment but then gave up. Ariel always seemed to swim about with her hair loose, and it worked for her.... maybe Alana should try it.
Nah....
She separated her hair into two sections, making two long fish tail braids half way down on either side to frame her face, while the rest of her hair below that point floated loose. Alana let her hair rest on her fair shoulders as she placed her pink shelled tiara on her head... something her father always liked her to wear at formal events... being second in line for the crown.
She sighed at her reflection and laid her head down. She wasn't feeling in the celebratory spirit anymore.

Adella placed a comforting hand on Alana's shoulder, seeing that something was bothering her. "What's wrong, Alana?"

"I don't know..." Alana answered. "I guess I'm not as 'in the mood' for a grand affair as I thought I was." She kept thinking about that shark trapped in the brig of the sunken ship... though she didn't know WHY. Sharks were one of the most mindless of predators in the blue depths, eating everything that moved without mercy. "Maybe once I'm down there... surrounded by all the finery and mermen... I'll feel better?" She put on a smile for Adella, though she didn't feel her heart was in it.

Adella smiled back, mostly in hope. She didn't like seeing any of her sisters depressed or upset. She carefully ran her fingers gently through Alana's hair, admiring the style but not wanting to do anything to mess it up.
"I love what you've done with your hair! I've probably said this before, but you're really creative when it comes to styles."

Ariel swam in and hummed to herself, "Yes Alana you always manage to make us look amazing." Ariel put on a pair of shell earrings dressing up wasn't really fun for her but she should probably look like a princess at any rate.
She put her hair up and was happy with how it looked. "There this should be good enough don't you think?"

Alana looked up at her. "I think you might be mistaken, Attina. Ariel put it in HER bag, which father just destroyed. I didn't even know that you had a bag of your own..."
She looked at her reflection... she really didn't look ANYTHING like either of her parents. All the royal sisters looked somewhat like the late queen, aside from Ariel who was the SPITTING IMAGE of Athena. Alana had no clue where her black hair and almond shaped eyes had come from. They weren't HIDEOUS... it just made her sad that all the evidence of her mother ever having existed were in Alana's memories; not in her appearance.
She didn't know WHY she was thinking about this now. Perhaps with Attina becoming Queen and such a huge change about to occur, it was making her feel sentimental. She tried to perk up. She took Attina's hands in hers.
"You're going to make a fine queen... honest. And I'm not just saying that because I don't want it..." She laughed, but then smiled warmly. "...Mother would be proud of you..." She gave Her eldest sister a hug.

Ariel swam over to them, "Yes but I am going to miss swimming around with all of you. I mean once Attina is Queen she can go where ever she pleases. I hope you wont be to busy to swim with us sister." Ariel looked over at Alana.
"Yes your broach was in my bag which Daddy destroyed." Of course Alana knew that, "We can find you a new one or maybe something father would approve of?" Ariel sighed.

"I wonder what your soon-to-be King looks like." Adella mused, "Were any of you able to get a peak at him? Cuz I wasn't able to..."
Adella looked sheepish at that. Normally, she'd have already had a good look at him, even if she had to be sneaky about it. Her reputation among her sisters was that she was usually the first to spot hot mermen a league away, especially ones of nobility. First a shark attack and now she couldn't give any details about Attina's future husband. Today was a strange day indeed...

Ariel swam over, "You actually didn't get a look at him Adella? I am surprised you didn't have his stats and age down." Ariel giggled,
"I'm kidding, but really we should go find him make sure he is worthy of our eldest sister."

"Which could mean that he's far too busy to notice if anyone goes to sneak a peek at him." Adella smirked a bit mischievously.

"The bride, sure," Adella began, "but there's no rule that says the bride's sisters can't take a look at the groom."
With that, Adella swam over to the door, checking to see if their father decided to leave guards outside their room.
