"I was only saying hello," He defended," Believe me, she only wishes I had been more friendly with her... jealous of her younger sister no doubt"
He smiled as if this was suppose to make her feel better.

"Happy.. yes... she LOOKS happy, Pirate. Is that you're doing?" She glared right back at him. "And what standard do you HOLD it to, exactly? What could you POSSIBLY know of happiness?"
She listened to Ariel's tirade, going on like a blathering child. "Yes... thank you PIRATE, for returning the Trident... which was stolen by a PIRATE... our mother SLAIN, by a PIRATE... and now my sister in the arms of a selfish, vengeful PIRATE who makes her oh so very 'happy'."
Alana turned on her heel to storm away. She would rather be FOAM then watch her sister throw herself away like this... "Congratulations on you happiness Ariel. I'm sure it was worth the brokenness you left behind."

"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED TO MOTHER!" Ariel screamed her rage getting the better of her, she knew Blackbeard had told her. He recognized Ariel she looked a lot like her mother. He taunted her with it, what could have happened to her own mother a fate so much worse then death. Ariel prayed he lied.
Ariel would never tell her sisters not if what Blackbeard said was true. He killed her mother then... Ariel couldn't even think about it. It made her want to vomit. She shook as the conversation with Blackbeard went though her head. She couldn't let Alana know the real truth this was something Ariel would take to the grave.
She swallowed before she spoke, "I met the pirate who killed mother or at least that's what he told me. I will tell you no matter what you may think of Hook he is no where near as terrible as him. Also despite what you think Alana, the trident wasn't taken by a pirate he wanted something else. I'm sorry, for screaming at you. "
Ariel had to back track now if Alana asked questions to answers she couldn't handle well Ariel didn't want to lie to her again.

Alana was taken back at Ariel's outburst. For a brief moment, hurt flashed across her face. Ariel didn't remember Queen Athena... not as long as Attina and Alana had. The young sister had been just an infant when she was... exposed to whatever horrible fate Ariel insinuated.
But in a moment the rage returned. "You dare... use our mother's DEATH to justify Hook's virtue?" She seethed, her voice quaking as her violet eyes flashed. "This man... who put an innocent woman in the HOSPITAL, stripping her of ALL her memories, a man so desperate to exact his revenge that he aligned himself with CORA... a witch of UNSPEAKABLE evils... but he is LESS evil then the pirate that took our mother's life?"
She looked Ariel dead in the eyes. "Burn in hell, little sister." With that she shoved past Ariel, going back the way she had come, no longer in the mood for a stroll on the dock.

Ariel was pretty sure she would. She wasn't actually trying to justify any of it, she was just sorry she brought it up. Damn it she messed up everything. Ariel didn't want to feel anything. She turned back to Hook.
"Do you think you might like not be an ass for like 2 seconds? My family hates me because of you and every time one of them meets you, you can't seem to help hitting on them! When will you realize they hate you?" She snapped at him.

"First off, Love," He looked at her, quirking an eyebrow," As I said you've made all your own decisions, you choose to come to me, you choose to take the amulet, you choose to trust that dark fairy, and you've repeatedly choose to go to bed with me- you are the one most responsible with the dispute between you and your family"
He shrugged and raised his arms," I know they hate me love- or I assume so- I just didn't realize she was your sister till it was too late"

Ariel looked back at him, "Well I actually didn't know I was making a deal with the dark fairy if you can remember Killian! You didn't share that bit of information with me! As for the rest fine your right. Just assume all the pretty girls in this town with strange eyes are my sisters?" Ariel wanted to laugh or it was closer to crying but she was to tired to do either.
"Please, lets just go drink or something." Ariel was being to realize why Hook drank all the damn time. It numbed things and brought her a few moments of peace.

"That's more like it, Love" He smiled and put an arm around her waist. They walked together to the club on the docks.
He gestured for her to have a seat and ordered a couple of drinks, for a moment she sat in silence," So... your sisters.... have you found any of the others? You have what... four, five?"

Ariel took a drink, "I actually have five of them and before you ask yes they are all beautiful. I have only found Arista and Alana. My father is here but I can't bring myself to talk to him." Ariel trailed off she didn't want to talk about her father. She played with the straw in her drink.
"What about you? Did you have a family?" Ariel asked, she realized she had never asked him about his family. She wouldn't be surprised if he blew her question off.

"I have no one," He replied taking a swig of his drink," Never knew my father... my mother died before I got the chance to know her well... not that it maters, they'd all be dead by now anyway"
He looked around, glancing from person to lady to lady, then back to Ariel," I'm afraid I never really got the 'family' experience, the people closest to me would be my crew.... and of course Milah, but people I care for have a way of coming to a tragic end"
Hook sighed, trying not to think too hard about any of this, he didn't want to feel anything of remorse or regret. Tonight was his last chance to feel good with one of the few people left who cared about him. still.

Ariel was shocked he answered, "I'm sorry to hear that, is that why you became a pirate? Or did the life of the sea just appeal to you?" Ariel wasn't sure why she was asking. Or why she felt for him so much in that moment.
"Without a family you never have to worry about disappointing anyone. They expect things from you when you let them down it just sucks. God I am sorry, you don't want to hear this. Your leaving tomorrow lets just I don't know enjoy this?" Ariel took another drink, if she could drowned out the pain for a few moments and focus on him. She might feel slightly better.
Ariel sighed her sisters didn't understand what she saw in Killian but Ariel knew there was something worth saving in him. He ruined his life because he loved someone to much. He was cruel and he could be the biggest ass in the world. He did have rare moments of true kindness and he had saved her more then a few times. They shared some kind of bond Ariel had no idea what it was but when she tried to leave it always came back to him. If no one understood it that was okay because she didn't. She was probably just really stupid but he told her didn't he the other night how much she met to him that he needed her?
She hated herself for that weakness always waiting for him to turn on her. It was so utterly stupid how could she love him so much one second and hate him in the next? It really didn't make any sense he ran hot then cold and Ariel had no idea how to handle it. He was leaving, so either way it shouldn't matter anymore.

"Yes, I had to learn to steal and fight fôr myself with no family to take care of me, so I fell into people with situations like my own- I was lucky to have them"
Well, maybe 'Lucky' wasn't the right word for it, Hook had a far more depressing childhood than he'd ever let in. He wasn't looking for pity, and he didn't want th conversation to take a dive because of his sad little tale.
"I wouldn't say such things about family though, I don't think your sisters hate you.... Well Alana might, but truthfully it comes from hating me. Hating the decisions you made, hating being helpless and letting you solve past problems on your own. They hate the circumstances they've been given but they need something physical to blame," he shrugged and leaned against the counter, looking at her," but what do I know? I don't have any sisters or blood to speak of... But from what I've heard... They're sometimes the only people you can count on"
Hook want even sure what that last bit meant, count on for what? Who knows... Maybe it'd make sense to her, but it hurt his head to think about it too much- he didn't have the time if day for such fluffy concepts. Besides... He knew there would always be exceptions...

Ariel was looking at her drink and playing with the straw until he started speaking of family. What he said well it actually made sense. Ariel couldn't help but think people were wrong about him, everyone deserved a second chance didn't they? He was brought into the world it seemed to her it was all he knew. Had Ariel been from another sea kingdom she might have turned out differently as well they would kill humans for fun. Something Ariel shuddered to think about.
Ariel looked at him as he spoke, "You right its mostly because of me sticking with you and maybe I am wrong but honestly I don't care anymore. It I was honest with myself I would have left them if I had legs I wouldn't have really had a choice. They still wouldn't have supported me so either way." Ariel sighed.
"I am not sure what is wrong with Alana, I just messed things up more going on a date with the guy she was in love with I had no idea. I really am a terrible sister to her, trust me she hates me and there isn't anything I can do about that." Ariel took a drink.
"I am sure you couldn't help what you were born into, you did what you could to survive. I can't imagine what kinds of things you had to do because of that Killian." Ariel touched his arm for a moment before going back to her drink. She was actually not minding the rum lately this was good compared to what she usually drank on his ship.

"We all have choices....." He murmured, he knew he wasn't an innocent man. Most if what happened to him was a result of a des idiom he made- he simply choose not to complain, he was a man if action not words.
He turned to get a view of the scene behind them, everyone here was happy- or at least pretending to be. Moving, smiling, and swaying to the music. It reminded him of home in a way though the music and clothes were different the atmosphere was immortal and the same as always.
"C'mon Love," Hook said getting up from his seat,"I want to dance away the night with you"

Ariel wasn't expecting that, did she want to dance? She looked at all the people they all looked happy. Ariel did love to dance it was one of the things she wanted to do more then anything once she became human.
"Alright then we can dance." She got up, taking one last drink.
