Ariel laughed, "I guess I have had some bad dates in the past including one where my friend had to be brought to the hospital. It doesn't bother me you like her Eric I think its sweet." Ariel smiled at him.
"The Alana I knew in the past wouldn't have hesitated to date you this curse must have been rough on all my sisters. I am sure she will see it maybe seeing you with someone else was the push she needed?"

"I've gotten into a lot of heartache and trouble with assuming, Ariel." He smiled weakly, then looked down. "I just... wanted to help... but there was a part of me that wanted to move on as well. You seemed nice, intrigued me, so I thought I would give it ago... but I just ended up hurting her more... and that was the LAST thing I wanted."
He walked around the couch and took a seat. "This curse being OVER is causing more trouble then it did when it was still going. I'm sure that's not true for EVERYONE... but that's been my experience thus far..."

"I couldn't say one way or another but I can say I know Alana well she will forgive you well actually you didn't really do anything wrong so she will come around?" Ariel tried.
"Eric I think your a really great guy and I am very happy you asked me out. Plus you served me the best food I have had since coming here. So don't be so hard on yourself, if you and Alana are meant for each other it will happen. Trust me you can't get away from true love." Ariel knew that well no matter how many times she got away from Hook she always ran into him. It was annoying .

He cocked his head at her. "You say that as if from experience... and not the good kind." Ariel didn't seem that keen on filling him in on her love woes, so he sighed. He then remembered something that Alana had spat at him before she had huffed out.
He picked up his remote and turned on his wall flat screen, pulling up Netflix. "I'm still listening, Ariel, I just wanted to see something... something that Alana refereed to just now. Something about the ending of a movie or book? How she knows how it ends... and... I... holy shit..." The first heavy swear that came out of charming Eric's mouth since Ariel had arrived.
On the screen was a picture of 'The Litttle Mermaid'... it was obvious that a likeness of Ariel was on the cover picture... and the man next to her, dimple appearing as he smiled. Eric sat in stunned silence.

Ariel looked at it, "But that's...have you seen this?" She ask Eric.
Ariel hadn't of course she had only seen a handful of movies since she spent a lot of time on Hook ship.
"Should we watch it?" Ariel had to admit she was interested in her own story or this worlds version of it. How wrong did they get her life anyway. She couldn't help but want to know.

"If...you want to." He would be lying if he said he wasn't at least CURIOUS... but he didn't know if this was wise, even if it WAS just a silly misguided version of their lives... he didn't like the idea of seeing his fate set in stone in any shape or form.
But Ariel looked interested. He selected it and pressed play. The two of them sat on opposites of the couch, body language clearly AWAY from each other as they lightly tackled this endeavor. Eric looked for Alana in daughters scenes...but she was a mere side note in the tale.
He looked over at Ariel. "Did she really look like that? Purple tail? Crown?" He smiled with amusement, not being able to imagine Alana wearing a crown willingly... but she DID look good in purple and had a natural tendency to wear it a lot.
Eric's portrayal had him squirming in his seat. Some of his own words where echoed by the crude cartoon version of himself... By the "Kiss the Girl" number, Eric made the excuse of wanting pop corn to get off the couch. He made it, and luckily it was over by the time he came back, offering Ariel some.
"So... this Ursala... was she even real? Maleficent gave the necklace to Hook who gave it to you, from what I understand..." He sighed, with relief. "So... A LOT of this is off the mark..."

Ariel took a handful of popcorn it was unreal seeing a cartoon version of herself swimming and singing to herself. Ariel had to admit it was kind of an accurate representation of her personality.
"Actually Alana looked at lot like that, they have my personality down well but my story is totally wrong. We did have a sea witch but I never went to her. No one ever did she was a rumor, maybe she was real but its not something I ever found out." Ariel told him eating another handful of popcorn it was addicting.
"I don't think you have anything to worry about. Its totally wrong Eric."

"Because... they have my personality down... and I did almost drown at sea." He replied. "I don't remember what happened, but a lovely princess was by my side when I woke up on the shore. I thought it was love... but three days before the wedding... I found her in bed with another man... soooo that didn't work out the way I had hoped. I was back out at sea to forget that part of my life within a couple of months."
He was silent for a moment, and then smiled to himself. "Actually... it was Alana who saved my from drowning, here in Storybrooke... that falls in line with the movie a little better... not as romantic though when you have to go to a hospital."

Ariel looked at him she couldn't imagine any women stupid enough to cheat on Eric he was perfect.
"Well I guess they got some things right though I saved Hook from drowning, you probably would have been a better choice. I guess I might have given up my voice for legs I's probably do anything for a chance at being human." Ariel was comparing her life to the movie she would have rather had the movie life, she ended up with a great guy and happy.
Ariel sighed, "Well Eric I am sure you and Alana are meant to be, she saved you maybe she is playing my role in this movie? Neptune knows she would do a better job of it then me."

Eric laughed. "I think if it had been Alana and I in the other world, she probably would have LET me drown." He took the empty popcorn bowl to kitchen. "From the way she speaks, it didn't sound like she had the highest opinion of humans... even now she's very PREJUDICED against us... except for a select few. I'm trying to work with her on that." He sighed.
He went back over to Ariel and took her in a warm embrace. "I don't know all the details about your relationship with Hook... but you deserve happiness. TRUE happiness. For yourself. It's a lesson I'm slowly learning myself." He pulled away, still gazing at her. The allure was still there, her lips had been soft and so inviting. But he knew it wasn't love. They could act on this strange connection now... but they would regret it later.
They where in love with different people. That was obvious to both of them.
He smiled, breaking the trance. "I'm very happy to have your friendship, Ariel."

"Yes Alana probably would have let you drowned, I am sure of that." Ariel watched him for a moment he hugged her then and she felt very attracted to him at that point. Of course she was terrified at being with anyone that wasn't Hook what if she changed back she couldn't think about it.
"Thanks Eric, I don't think that's in the cards for me actually. I am happy just being here and being human. As for love, well lets just say I would send it back if I could." They finished the hug and Ariel looked at him for a moment, it was temping to say the least, she really enjoyed his kisses earlier but she couldn't.
"Your a really good friend to Eric. Listen if there is anything you need call me. I will go talk to Alana tomorrow, I can't promise anything but I will try."

He shook his head. "No... don't even worry about ME and Alana... that's something that I need to fight for: my battle." Eric smiled weakly, then brushed some loose red hair behind her ear. "Just worry about YOU and Alana. It pains me to see two amazing sisters fight with one another.... you two are so lucky to have each other. To have a family. Some of us aren't that fortunate." His hand dropped away.

"I'm sorry, I have been with out a family for a while. It's hard I can't imagine if they were gone for ever. I will try working things out with Alana. It's hard to face her after what I did. Though I didn't know about most of it. I have a long way to go to gaining her trust I am not sure I'll ever get it back. However I meant what I said Eric if you need me I'll be here even if you just need to talk." Ariel told him meeting his eyes.

Eric smiled back at her. "Likewise." He escorted her to the door; they both felt it was time to part. "Oh, and I'll try to get your voice on the radio... even if I have to mix it myself. Hidden from the eyes of Alana." He laughed. "It's a lovely voice, and I want the world to hear it. Or... at least the population of Storybrooke to."
He hugged her again. "I'll see you later, Ariel."

"Oh well that would be really nice. Thanks for everything Eric." Ariel gave him a quick hug before heading out the door.
She was going to give Alana a day to cool off and then she would go talk to her. If Ariel had to take the blame for everything including Eric then she would.
