Arista was grabbing her back to go to her Karate lessons this time she invited Ariel. It was important her little sister know how to defend herself as well once Arista explained this Ariel was still on the fence but once she told her that her instructor Li was well the hottest guy she'd ever seen with his shit off might cover it Ariel was all for it. Not that she was guy crazy or anything but Ariel was usually walking home from work at night and who knew what was out roaming about Storybrooke.
Arista imagined all her sisters might want to go as well well maybe next week. Arista herself had been going since the curse broke because James didn't get that it was over and Arista was honestly terrified of him. Li showed her things that probably prevented massive trips to the hospital if James managed to lay a finger on her, Arista was confident now she could break his arm in 3 places before he tried.
She opened the door when her sister arrived, "Ariel you made it," She took note of her beautiful sister wearing work out clothes with her hair piled up on her head and she still looked prettier then Arista even when she tried to look good.
"I guess we should leave and when we get back pizza! Because trust me we will have earned it." She grabbed her bag.

Ariel laughed, "Great I love Pizza, thanks for inviting me your right I really should learn how to fight or at least defend myself. Sometimes there are really creepy guys at the club. Alright and you telling me Sheng is massively hot helps a bit too. So how come you never hooked up with him?" Ariel asked as they made their way to the Dojo. Ariel was just now stepping into the dating field again because men were creeps and honestly she needed a break for a bit.
"Anyway I think it will just be nice to hang out with my sister. We should totally invite Alana." Ariel laughed, Alana would probably be amazing at Karate.

Li stepped into the dojo room, bag slung over his shoulder. When his students caught sight of him, they immediately stood attention, a fist against an open hand, slightly bowing: showing him respect. He could see that there were a few newcomers... who stood around clueless, and then mimicked surrounding students as to not stand out.
He was walking by everyone, eying the new prospective warriors... when he paused slightly in front of a young woman with bright red hair. She looked awkward in her stance, trying so hard... she didn't look like much of a fighter...
He would change that. To someone else it might have looked like he was checking her out, but he was merely envisioning the possibilities of what she could become. Flexibility and speed would be her friend, he could tell that from just looking at her. His eyes glanced once more at her unique hair before moving on to examine other newcomers.
"Ni hao, class." He said, letting his leather jacket slide to the floor, kicking it off to the side along with his bag.
"NI HAO, MASTER SHUNYU!" The class responded.
"I see new faces... this is good." he nodded to himself, slight grin on his lips, though it was hard to tell. "Though I must warn you..."
Without warning, Li took a stance and started executing a mixture of karate, kung fu, drunken master sytle. It was quite a spectacle of flips kicks and agility. He ended with a backflip off of a wall mirror ending in a pose mimicked Bruce Lee, adding a high-pitched whoop to pay tribute to the famous master. He then dropped the stance, not even out of breath.
"...If THAT is what you came here to learn... the door is right over there." Li pointed towards the door. "I am not here to make you look good... to make you look like you know how to fight... I have much better things to do with my time with then that."
"This class is about you... INSIDE you... how to control the elements that make up who you are, to find BALANCE. And once you have mastered that and ONLY when you have mastered that... will we proceed beyond. That being said... let's get down to business."
He put his hands behind his back. "Today we will go back to the basics. Tai Chi: the art of meditation. Arista and Gretta... come to the front of the class. Lead us through the steps while I assist the new students."

Ariel watched her sister as she did a flawless job in front of the class. Ariel herself would have a harder time she wasn't exactly graceful no matter what her dancing partners might say.
She followed the motions carefully if she was under water she would probably be more graceful but as a human well she would try her best.
Ariel moved with the class and followed as best she could. Well it was her first time maybe she would get better.

Li was walking by, inspecting the execution of the moves by all the different students. He walked by the red-head.
"Perhaps if you didn't think of the movements as separate actions. It is not choreography... where this step comes after this step." He positioned himself behind her, putting his hands on her arms to direct her. "It is one... long continuous dance... envision that you have a medium ball of your own energy that you are toying with, pushing and pulling about. If you hesitate for an instant, to busy thinking about the next 'step' it will drop. Don't give it the chance to drop..." Already her movements were looking smoother and continuous.
"Good. Now pass me the ball." He said, stepping away from her. She looked confused for a second, but she passed the imaginary ball to him. He gracefully rolled the invisible ball up his palm, arm, across his shoulders, and into his other hand, executed more moves, keeping this 'ball' in constant motion with his graceful body. "Justin, catch the ball..."
He passed it to another student to toy with, before motioning for it back. He let the ball of energy roll of his shoulder and long arm, back to Ariel's hands. She stood in amazement.
Li arched a brow at her. "Keep your ball moving..." He gently reminded her. She snapped out of her trance and set about keeping the ball moving. Li stifled a grin and kept moving.

Ariel did as he told her too and played with the ball of energy it was amazing how it actually began to feel like she held a ball.
Ariel felt like she actually made some progress and had made up her mind to continue with classes. Though Arista was right Master Sheng was really good looking it was becoming more then that. Like he actually believed in his students or even believed in her. Which not many people did well about certain things anyway.
Ariel shrugged off the thoughts this wasn't the time and she needed to focus. She cleared her mind and went though the motions of the class.

Arista stood in the front of the class she had been taking classes for months now she had a lot of the movements down. She watched Sheng with her sister he seemed to take a liking to her. Not that Arista would know Sheng was a mystery she had known him as her class instructor for nearly 6 months and still didn't know anything about him.
Well she knew he looked amazing shirtless but other then that nothing. If her little sister could find something good in that bastard Hook maybe she might be successful in cracking a hold in Sheng's armor.
Arista went back to the movements no use getting distracted right now.

The two hours always seemed to pass by so quickly. Li signaled one of the junior members to run over and hit the gong displayed in the front of the class. She did so with much enthusiasm.
Li put his arms behind his back in a militant stance, considering the nice size of his class. "Good work today, class. Some of you I will see again... some I will not. But thank you for the lessons YOU have taught ME today. Mànzŏu, class."
"Mànzŏu, Master Sheng!" The class responded.
By now most of his students knew that he wasn't much of a talker, so they waved, but made their way to the doors, while Sheng took to cleaning off the mirrors and mats.

Arista joined Ariel as the left class. "Actually Arista I liked it I think I will go with you next week?" Ariel laughed as Arista beamed.
"I am sure I'll get the hang of it sooner or later." Ariel told her sister as they made their way out of the Dojo. "I'll walk you home first and then I'll go back to my place there is no way I'm leaving you alone I don't want you to run into James again."

Once all the students were gone, he turned off the meditation music of rain and drums. He shed his shirt off... taking his position in the center of the dojo room.
Without warning, he lashed out at an invisible opponent, punch after punch, kick after kick, turn, duck, swivel, uppercut... He went through his ritualistic battle, until his breathing was ragged. He finally got dangerously close to a mirror, stopping punch to his reflections just before it hit the glass. He heaved with intensity... angry at his reflection.
A warrior... stuck in a peaceful town. He felt absolute... unnecessary... and yet this was all he knew. To be a warrior... and to train more warriors. To fight. To bring honor... or die trying. There was no honor in drinking coffee and driving cars when your fellow brothers in arms were back in another world, serving their true purpose.
Even his other persona felt discontented, learning the truth... that all that training... all that competing to go on to national tournaments... it was all bullshit. He was never leaving this town.
He finally dropped his arm and walked back to the center for some meditative stretches...
Li finally threw on his jacket a half hour later, turning off lights in the dojo, when he noticed something on one of the benches along the wall. Looks like someone had left sheet music behind. There appeared to be notes written on it.
Ariel, this is the song we want to try at Thursday's rehearsal. Cut out the third verse and repeat the bridge.
Li blinked at the note. It was Tuesday. This 'Ariel' would be needing this music... though she might just get another. He looked up at the clock. It was only 9:30pm. He could return it... he had nothing better to do with the rest of his day... He walked over to the sign-in desk and looked at the guest register. Sometime new students didn't leave all their info, not sure if they would return... but Ariel HAD written her info down. Probably to be polite.
He was trying to place her face, but the name didn't ring a bell. It took him an extra session or two before he could commit a person's name to face.
Li picked up the music again and made his way out the door, locking it behind him.

Ariel said goodbye to Arista and made her way back home. She still had to take a shower and get dressed for singing at the club tonight. She was dying to wear the little black dress she bought for work every girl should have one well that's what Arista told her anyway. Ariel walked up the stairs to her place something felt wrong and when she reached her door it was ajar.
Ariel's heartbeat quickened there was something wrong she listened outside and didn't hear anything Ariel went to walk in to her place and she was grabbed hard whoever had her pushed her into the wall. Ariel couldn't see much in the dark she made a tiny yelp.

Li looked up at the apartment complex before him. It was in the more shady area of Storybrooke residences. Perhaps it was GOOD that Ariel was taking his class. He walked up the stairs and walked by the doors until he came to hers. He was about to knock, but he could hear clamoring within. Two... maybe three individuals in there.
It was when he heard muffled cries that he kicked the door open.
One masked man halted in disconnecting the tv while the other looked over from his place with the hostage. Ah... so Ariel was the attractive red-head. He held up her music.
"You forgot this." He said simply.
That's when the aggressor holding her shoved her to the floor and came at Li. He held up the music so that it hid the attacker's view of his face. As the punch bent the paper, Li moved his head out of harm's way with a fast jerk of the neck, and then grabbed hold of the man's arm, twisting it painfully before bending it as he spun in towards the man. With his back to the man's front, Li delivered a few elbow blows to the mans gut before upper-cutting his chin. He then seized the man by the head and flipped him over his shoulder, the man landing painfully on his back with a grunt. Li looked up at the other man holding the TV.
The other robber saw that elaborate sequence and decided it wasn't worth his trouble. He tossed the TV at Li. Usually, the warrior would let something like that drop... it was just an earthly possession... but from glancing around the semi sparse apartment, he could tell that this Ariel didn't have much to her name...
Li grunted as he went out of his way to catch the large TV, shifting to deliver a back high kick to the robber to shove him back away from the door. No Escape. The instructor placed the TV gently on the table and then turned to his opponent, who was taking out a small pocket knife as he charged at him.
Li was disgusted at the man... a weapon... to a fist fight. Dishonorable. Li put forth a little more effort to keep away from the blade, but the man was unpredictable in his panic, managing to nick Li on the edge of his hand.

Ariel looked up as Sheng came in so calm and collected as he told her she left her sheet music. Then in a second he was in full warrior mode.
Ariel watched in awe as Sheng took out all three of the guys who were robbing her it was effortless on his part. She stood up from the floor still a little more then terrified she felt for her phone maybe she could call the police she must have dropped it somewhere.
Ariel ducked as one of the guys threw a poorly aimed vase at Sheng. It smashed on the wall behind her Ariel was annoyed she liked that vase. She was more worried about Sheng not that he was having a hard time actually he looked like he rather enjoyed this. Ariel didn't care she was just happy he was here.

It wasn't long before he had all three men laid on the ground. It wasn't hard, and his panting was more from the excitement of it all, rather then the physical exertion. This was the first time he had used his skill against a true, legitimate threat.
He put his fists down, slightly disappointed that it wasn't more of a challenge. At this rate, he would soften, never be the warrior that he was back in the other world. He finally glanced down at Ariel, remember that he was not alone.
"...Sorry about the vase." He swooped down to pick up her phone. It was slightly damaged, but it would still work. "I will bind them, you call the sheriff."
He set about tying them up with what he could find and dragging the unconscious bodies to a corner closer to the door, for easy retrieval. After that was all done, he finally remembered the wound on his hand as it stung slightly. He looked down at it, mentally beating himself up for being so reckless.

Ariel called the Sheriff and Emma was on her way to take care of the the robbers. She looked back at Sheng, "Well the least I can do is help you patch that up?" She asked, "I'm pretty sure I have a first aid kit around here somewhere please sit." Ariel went into the bathroom and grabbed her kit.
She came back and sat down on her couch, "So thank you for stopping them." She told him as she opened the kit. Honestly the cut was so tiny but Ariel wanted to feel somewhat useful.
