Being a mermaid came with a fairly obvious raw sea food diet and becoming human had ruined that forever, Arista smiled as the thought occurred to her. How could we ever go back to the way things were after this?
It was about an hour or two after Ariel had called when Arista arrived with what seemed to be a car full of food. She wasn't entirely sure what her sister's taste's were when it came to human food, so she made sure to bring a variety to please everyone... and if it didn't please them - they could starve.
She parked the car by the entrance to the garage and called out to her sisters who had already arrived. "Hey guys! a little help here?" she waved them over to help her carry all the trays and bowls that had been carefully placed the back of her car.

Ariel and Adella had gone out to help Arista unload the food. How much food did she BRING if she needed three sets of hands to unload it???
Alana dove under the water. As traumatic as this whole ordeal had been... it did feel good to lazily swish her tail through the water, making a slow lap around the expanse of the pool, without needing to come up for air. Fish seemed more calm around her, as if she was just another one of them... though a little skittish because of her size. That was understandable.
For a second she could almost believe that she was back in their world, taking a leisurely swim around the reef. The only thing that would make this moment perfect was if Eric was with her... seeing her in her true form completely... He said that this didn't matter to him... that it didn't change ANYTHING. But how could he be so sure?
She was so lost in thought she didn't hear the door open, her sisters filing in with the food.

Once Ariel got the food inside she went to find her Father he would probably love to see his daughters all together.
"Daddy?" Ariel asked going into the garage where she thought he might be. Ariel found him leaning over a car, "Daddy all of us are having a get together to cheer up Alana. I wanted you to come and eat with us. Arista made a bunch of food and the others are on their way." Ariel told him, it was nice to see him outside of the time with her heart and she hadn't faced him alone since then.

"Cheer up Alana?" He asked, pausing in his work. His aqua eyes met hers. "Why does she need cheering up?"

Ariel looked at her father, "Daddy Alana is a mermaid... I know you think she should be happy about that but this world is different you know being a mermaid here is hard for her right?" Ariel asked him he truly didn't get it.
"She isn't happy about it Alana has a life here..."

"She had a CURSED life here, Ariel." Triton corrected her, wiping the grease off of his hands with a rag. "A life that wasn't real. Her past... her heritage, her identity as an ocean princess... THAT is real. And she acts as though THAT is the curse!" He threw the rag down. "Neptune's blessing is wasted on her. She always did enjoy the frivolous things. My vain tadpole..."

"Daddy Alana has done more for this family then you will ever know and as hard as this is to believe this is not a blessing! Not here I know you hate humans believe me I know. As hard as it maybe to accept this we are human now not mermaids. I don't think this is a blessing I think its scary and if you have a way to help Alana I think you should." Ariel told him she was keeping the anger and frustration out of her voice.

The ocean King shot a glance at his youngest daughter. The daughter who had been the light of his life since she was born. The daughter with Athena's face...
"Are you so swift to abandon your roots? Why is it that you see no problem with changing yourself to join another world as you did, but it is wrong for me to desire for my people to return to the oceans in the form that they knew and loved?" He turned his back on her. "I REFUSE to give up on my birthright as you suggest. Your heart is in the right place... but to count ourselves as one of... them..." He closed his eyes, getting his bearings, fighting back the rage that he felt when he held his dead Queen after the land dwellers had their way with her.
His eyes finally opened, cold and stark. "I am no human... never will be. And nether will you. It is in our blood, our very design... the call of the ocean. To rule it... to protect it from those... barbarians. Those... HUMANS."

Ariel was actually she had been waiting to be human for a very long time.
"Daddy its not that we can't fight this and its okay to want to be mermaids again but we can't be here its difficult. As much as you hate humans we are human in this world. Daddy I know..." Ariel took a breath.
"I know not all humans are good I know better then most I know what happened to mother... I understand how much you hate them for that but they aren't all bad just like merpeople aren't all good. Please Daddy if there is something you can do to help Alana then please do it. Its not about leaving out heritage behind because I am proud to be a mermaid and I will never not be. It's about fitting in here and being happy with what we have." Ariel tried to be reasonable with her father.

"I CAN'T BE HAPPY LIKE THIS... NOT SETTLING." He actually raised his voice at her. He recalled doing that a few times in the other world... but not since then. He took a breath. "You should understand... not being content with what you are. You couldn't find happiness with what you had... so do not lecture me on those merits, Ariel." He now sounded like a father reprimanding a small child.
He turned away from her, afraid he would say more that he would regret. "I'm... I'm sorry that you learned of... that." It was the last thing that he desired for his daughters; to know the horrible details of their mother's end. "...You... you would not have been exposed to that if you had STAYED HOME... instead you ran off with the Pirate due to your adventure lust! Nearly getting yourself KILLED by that monster..."

"I know how you feel Daddy and your right I wasn't happy but that wasn't you or the kingdom. I know I went off with him to get back the trident to protect our kingdom. I know there was other ways to do it but Daddy if you went everyone would have been killed. I wanted to ask Killian because he knew pirates and he helped me get it back. He even saved my life and believe me when I tell you the person who did that to mom was barely human he was a monster. Full of the darkest magic and evil." Ariel touched her father's back.
"I'm sorry I haven't been the best daughter and Alana is a better daughter and princess then I will ever be. I love you and I never meant to hurt you. I just want you to see the other side of things in a way you never could Daddy." Ariel told him she was still keeping her voice clam and collected.

"And tell me...did you KILL that monster? Or did you leave him be, to terrorize and feast upon more of our kind? Or even HIS kind for that matter." He said darkly, but his harsh expression softened and he turned towards her, placing calloused hands on her fair shoulders. "It was not your place... because you are too pure for such dark work. That is my burden to bear upon my crown. You did what you thought was right... but letting someone like him live... like that entire ship to exist as a blemish upon our blue oceans... blood is now on your hands. And mine... for letting you..." But would could he have possibly done? Nail her fins to the ocean floor?
"I... was disappointed... so disappointed that you did that... but even more so... that you felt you could only rely on your pirate. Not your father..." He took a breath and stepped away. He retrieved his leather jacket from a nearby stool. "I'm going to town." He said, zipping up his coat. "I don't know if there is anything I CAN do to make Alana happy. The Trident unbinds spells and curses. It cannot change what is not cursed. But I will try. If that is what you want." He looked at Ariel for a few beats, but then turned to leave, shaking his head as he walked out the open garage door.

Ariel felt terrible that wasn't what she wanted her father to think but was it true Ariel didn't think there was a way she could have killed Blackbeard even if she wanted to. He was full of dark magic and mermaid flesh which in his spells made him immortal. Ariel didn't want to think about that.
She wasn't a very good daughter after all and yet her father still cared so much for her. Ariel dried her tears at least her father would help if he could. He already did so much for her maybe it was unfair for her to ask him to help Alana but he needed to understand how unhappy she was. Alana would never tell him the faithful daughter to the end so if Ariel had to take the blame for that she would always.
She grabbed a few things, trying to look happy again for her sisters sake Ariel got pretty good a shoving down her emotions so she could hide what she was truly feeling.
"Are we ready for movie night?" She asked her sisters.

"I guess so!" Alana said, slightly excited. It was so good to see her sisters. "Some are still on the way, according to Arista, but-" She finally looked at Ariel. Her eyes were swollen. She almost asked what was wrong, but the red-headed sister was pulled away by another.

Ariel was still shaken from her chat with her father would they ever just have a normal conversation? Probably not.
Ariel felt terrible but Alana needed the help and if she had to look like the bad daughter then of course she would. Ariel pushed her emotions to the back of her mind.
"Alright Lets Party!" She laughed it was nice to spend time with her family. Ariel finally got away from Arista and went over to Alana.
"How are you doing?"
