"I was just passing by," Gold replied evenly.

"Then keep ON passing by!" She shot back before throwing her head back with another grunt. "Heavens above..." She pleaded. "...have mercy..."

She finally managed to shoot him a glare. "Don't PRETEND to give a damn about me, Rumpelstiltskin." She bit at him, before letting her head fall back against the pillow. "That time is long past... why are you REALLY here?"

"Because you need my help," he said

"And as I recall, your 'help' always comes with a price... one that I'm in no condition to pay..." Her pride was dictating what she said back to the Dark One, but another splitting pain brought her to tears again.
"...Will... will they die?" She finally asked him. Her voice so feeble.

"Your body is rejecting them," Gold replied gently, "And it is too soon. I highly doubt they are ready to venture out into the world on their own."

If she could have focused, she would have known the odd gentleness in his voice that she had never heard from him before... except for maybe the night when he explained to the Simple Hans that his first born could NOT be raised from the dead. But Else had been so enraged at the unraveling plot that had been explained before hand, that she didn't really notice it, or CARE about it, then either.
"So... they WILL... d-die..." her voice cracked. She couldn't go through another loss... not again. And she KNEW that it was her fault... none of this had started before she got the tattoo. It was SUPPOSED to protect her family... not DESTROY IT. She put her head in her hands. "Gods forgive me..."

"Not if I can help it." Dr. Whale said from the door. He didn't really like Rumpelstiltskin in the patient's room, riling her up, but he couldn't exactly FORCE the Dark One to leave. "He's right... the tests confirm it. SOMEHOW... the twins are developing at a rapid rate. You're only a few months pregnant, but right now they look like they are a few WEEKS from being ready for delivery. The only problem is... your body can't keep up with the pace, your body is not going to be ready to deliver in an hour... I suggest... an operation. It will be risky... but your body isn't providing the nutrients at the rate they need it... and... the chances of you surviving if you try a natural birth are incredibly against your favor. More so then with an operation."
Mr. Gold seemed to scoff beside him. Whale didn't have the patience for a dispute with the imp. "Yes? Something you would like to add, Mr. Gold?" Why was the man even HERE? What ties did he have to this woman?

"The only problem is... I don't know WHY this is happening..." Victor said, jaw clenching, hating that... like magic... science had it's limitations...
"I suppose you could supply the answer to that." He said, fishing for an answer from the Dark One.

Victor turned to the man. "She could DIE." He said.... but he knew it was a waste of his time. The dark one didn't value life... not like humans did.
"Why are you even here?" He asked. "You don't have friends, so showing your support is out of character." It didn't add up. Why as the Dark One waiting in this room...
Whale blinked at the imp. "You're not interested in her... you're interested in THEM." He put together. "Well they could die too..."

Post by Captain Killian 'Hook' Jones on May 23, 2013 19:31:20 GMT -5
Hook stepped out of the shower in Ariels apartment, she'd offered him a place to stay for the night AGAIN. It was only noon when he'd arived at her place, starving and secretly trying to stay out of sight from Greg and Tamara. The last few days he'd spent with them, barely eating and barely sleeping- they weren't very accomadating hhosts, which would have been fine if he could just get a hold of his ship.....
Hook sighed as he wrapped a towel around himself- suddenly his head jerked up. There was that bloody sound again! Ariels apartment was full of 'noise' from various machines; the Coffee maker, the refigerator, the microwave, all of which he had to get use to..... but this wasn't any of them.... this was the phone. The captain wandered over and hit the 'message' button, something Ariel had shown him in case he missed her calls when she tried to get a hold of him- or rather check in on him, something about not understanding this worlds technology and forks not going in microwaves.
Only a few moments into the message and he was dashing to get into dry clothes, Ariel had left a message about Else- there were complications in her pregnancy and now she was in the hospital.... they didn't know if she was going to make it.
A minute later Hook was out the door, still buttoning his jacket on the way out
