"Ariel, are you sure?' He looked at her," I mean, you know I want this, but.... are you sure?"

Ariel looked back at him taking a breath, "I am very sure but you must promise me something. You will load the ship with all I ask and I'm getting final say in the crew if they are going to be around our child."
Ariel ran her fingers though his hair, "There's something else its not a huge deal here but I feel compelled to bring it up should we go back. I am worried the world will be hard on Melody if her parents are married? So should we just say we are? Is this something I should even be worried about I just didn't know if it was a big deal. It never has been here so I never thought about it but it will be so different for Melody there. I'm sorry Killian maybe I'm still a little worried but I told you I would go and I will I promise no matter what."
Ariel put her head down on his neck slightly embarrassed. She didn't wait him to think she was trying to get him to marry her that wasn't something Ariel had allowed herself to think about. She honestly never cared.
"If you say its not a big deal then forget I said anything okay?"

Else and Eric came through the portal, emerging around the docks. Judging by the sun in the sky, it was probably around five or six. Maybe a little later. They made their way down to Hook's ship; so he was still here. Good. He would know where Ariel was. Else put her hood down, her hair whipping in her face as she walked.
Eric followed silently, a stern look on his handsome face. He would never be the same unless he found Alana again.
"Captain Jones?" Else called from above deck. She had walked in on him entertaining Female guests more then once, she didn't want to make that mistake again. She walked over to the alarm bell and yanked on the rope a few times. "Captain Jones?" She tried again. She put her hand on the hilt of her sword; she never used to carry one... but Eileen had insisted after the first attack on the castle by the ogres. She and Hans had been so frightened for their children. These Ogres were not from their land... they were foreign, ruthless... and refused to be reasoned with.
"Perhaps he's not here..." She sighed. "We could try her old apartment, I suppose. But that was years ago. She could have moved by now..."

Ariel picked her head up, "Someones here?" She said sitting up better to listen she grabbed her jeans from the floor and tossed on her shirt.
"Get dressed Killian I believe who ever it is wants to see you." Ariel stood and waited wondering who could be here. Everyone in town knew Killian lived with her now didn't they. Plus there was only one person Ariel knew that called him Captain Jones she blinked it couldn't be could it? Ariel pulled her hair back and without waiting for Killian started up the stairs to the deck.
She hoped she was right about who would be standing there.

Else was about to follow Eric off of the ship when she saw the red-head pop up from below deck. "Ariel? Oh thank gods you're here! You were the one we were looking for, actually!" She ran up to her dear friend and put her arms around her shoulders. "It has been too long, dear friend." She said warmly. She grinned so wide, only to keep the tears back. She did not have good news for the little mermaid.
"You remember Eric..." She motioned back to him. He smiled weakly... but looked away. Eric... was not himself. Not since Alana had vanished. He couldn't even pretend to be happy. But Else would probably have felt the same... if it had been Hans... or even one of her children....
"How are you? I take it you and the Captain stay in touch?" Else felt a slight pang of jealousy, so out of the loop with her intimate friends. But being worlds away will do that, naturally. "How is the old scurvy dog?" She asked, as she saw him coming up the stairs... knowing he could hear her.

Ariel smiled, "ELSE!" Ariel pulled Else into a hug, "Its so good to see you. Yes you could say we keep in touch." Ariel couldn't wait to tell her all the news. She waved to Eric who seemed upset and Ariel was already worried.
"What brings you here its been so long?" She asked turning to look for Killian he was coming up on the deck.

"I'm doing well, as a matter of fact," He smirked as he reached the top,"It's good to see you too, Love"
But of course a warm smile wasn't enough he laughed and placed his arms around her briefly then looked between her and Eric- whom he hadn't been expecting and certainly wasn't going to welcome as warmly," What brings you here?"

The weak smile finally faded from Else's face. She let go of Hook and went to Ariel's side. "Ariel, there's something... you need to sit down. Eric?" Eric nodded and produced a small bundle wrapped in colorful, dried seaweed.
Else hands over Ariel's. She was acquainted with this pain... the pain of losing a father. She wished she had the right words to deliver such mournful news. "Ariel... King Triton has fallen. He... fell ill and passed. And there was no way to let you know any sooner then now... oh Ariel..." She hugged her friend tight as those aqua eyes began to tear up. "Alana said... he wanted you to have this..." Erick handed her the small bundle, to give to Ariel.
Eric knew that it was the music box... a gift from Triton to his Queen. Alana had wanted to deliver it personally herself once a means of portals could be found. She was the only sister that COULD, having legs...
Else brushed Ariel's red hair out from her face as she looked blankly at the present. "It's okay, dear friend.. it... it happens all the time. But... it doesn't make it any easier."

Ariel blinked a few times until she realized what Else was telling her, her father was gone and he would never meet her daughter. She took her mothers music box with numb fingers trying to make sense of what she was being told.
"Oh no... no he never got to meet Melody..." Ariel felt the tears falling down her face. She often thought he might soften towards Killian when he saw their daughter who was an amazing little girl.
"Now he never will meet his granddaughter." Ariel broke into a sob she might not have always agreed with her father but it didn't stop her from loving him. Ariel had wanted to talk with him one day about everything and why she left now she would never get a chance.
She held the music box close something she would pass on to Melody one day and tried not to cry.

Killian looked like he had been struck, he moved over to Ariel and put his arms around her shoulders,"When did this.... what happened?" he asked Else.

Ariel curled into Killian when he came over to her she rested her head against his arm and tried to focus on what Else was saying.
She blinked back tears it hurt so bad to know her father was gone and Ariel never had time to fix things between them. She wanted him to at least know she was happy, in love and had a little girl who meant the world to her. A small part of her wondered if he would accept her new life and now it didn't matter any longer.
She clutched the music box in her hand and wanted to cry she should have been there with her sisters. She looked back at Else waiting to hear more but clinging to Killian for strength.

"Melody?" Granddaughter? Else looked to Ariel, and then over to Hook. Were they?
Well... that was unexpected. Or perhaps it wasn't.
"A year ago." Else answered. "I would have come sooner... but we had to find means of portal that would allow me to travel...with my condition." The squid ink tattoo worked like a charm. Nothing magical could harm her or her family. She looked at Ariel. "There's... more..." She added reluctantly.
"The land is riddled with ogres...that has been trying up most of my attention... but the oceans have become restless as well." She put a hand Eric's shoulder. "Ursula has been taking down each sea kingdom... Atlantica is the last standing, under Adella's guidance... but she doesn't know how much longer she can hold out.... and Alana..." She didn't want to deliver any more bad news.

"Alana is gone." Eric finished, sounding so distant and unlike himself. "Vanished. We were at the coast when Ursula attacked. She would have taken my daughters as well... but she only succeeded in taking Alana." They honestly didn't know if she was dead or alive. Eric looked away, keeping composed even though he felt a chaotic tide of emotions within.

Ariel closed her eyes her world was in ruins and there was nothing she could do about it. Her poor sister and poor Eric she swallowed back her tears.
Her father had been gone a year and everything was going to hell. How could she bring Melody into that? Ariel had just agreed to go back but how could she with Melody? It was impossible.
"Is there anything we can do from this side? Would it help if I went back found a way to fight her?" Ariel asked unsure there was anything or what she could do to help.
"Killian and I have a daughter Melody, we were planning on going back soon to our world. Are the people safe? What is Adella going to do if she can't protect Atlantica?" Ariel asked she was worried Atlantica was protected by strong magic no one should be able to break it.
Her sisters were in danger and Ariel felt helpless she had to protect Melody at all costs but she couldn't turn her back on those who needed her.

In danger? Hook looked at Ariel again, if Atlantica had become a war zone, there wasn't a chance in hell he was going to bring Melody in the middle of that.
"Ariel, Do you think that's a good idea right now? I mean... know you want to help your family, but you have family here..."
