"Actually yes, it does," Ruby said crossing her arms," you can't imagine why?"
Of course he could imagine.
Ruby made her way over to the couch and lifted Victors head, placing him on her lap as she took a seat. She didnt want to talk to Dracula, the sooner he left the better. She gently brushed the few stands of stray hair away from his eyes.
"And you'll leave quietly as soon as your done right?"

"As soon as I am SURE that the mark is taking... and not killing him, yes..." Dracula said. She was establishing possession of the young doctor with her close proximity with him. And the intimate way she touched him. Two can play that game. "Victor, would you please hold this?" he commanded. Immediately Whale's dull eyes opened; he held up his other hand to take the thread that the vampire offered. Dracula took the scissors and snipped at the thread. He rubbed his ghoul's chest affectionately, as you would a faithful dog. "Thank you, my Victor."
He put the scissors down. "If it does not... and he dies... I will take my revenge out upon you." he said nonchalantly, sifting through the kit in front of him for sterile bandages. "Victor was close in his research, you see, and I would be ABSOLUTELY LIVID to come this far just to have the golden goose DIE on me..."

assuming I don't get my revenge on you first
The likelyhood of her actually winning that fight was slim, but even to herself she wouldn't admit that.
She nearly jumped when Victor opened his eyes so quickly. Ruby eyed Dracula coldly, he had a some nerve... She continued to stroke his cheek gently, praying he would wake up after this...
"What makes you think he'll continue his 'research'" she asked, refusing to look at him," and in particular, what makes you think he'll continue his research for you"

"For ME? No no no, Red. May I call you Red?" He gently lifted the doctor's arm; he finished putting bandages over top of the worst part of the wound and now proceeded to wrap medical gauze securely about the forearm. "For ALL of us...do you really think this town is going to stay 'protected' as it... expands?" He asked, finally looking at her. "The town is already crowded enough... and one cannot grow accustomed to a certain lifestyle without the whole town knowing about it." He was referring to himself at this point, though there were others. "Some of us quite enjoy our anonymity... something better preserved out in the wide world yonder."
He finished with his work and set Victor's arm down. "Believe me, Red... we are literally one outsider away from having an entire world bearing down on us with pitchforks and missiles. Storybrooke, home of the werewolves, the mad scientists, the vampires, the enchanters, the lagoon creatures, and so forth." He of course, was talking about Greg. And the many more outsiders to come.

"It's Ruby, actually"
Red still didn't like the sound of any of this, ideally... sure, IF Victor could figure out the secret to reanimation... it would certainly be helpful. But she knew there would be plenty of people ready to abuse that knowledge.
Still.... IF this is was he wanted to do, meaning Victor on his own.... that was his choice. Red would have to try and keep an open mind about it, it just seemed like something... he may not want to get back into, not right away at least.
She bit her lip, still not sure how to receive all of this... she needed to think... "I suppose that's fair.... but I'd prefer if you stayed out of it, Victor should be able to make that decision on his own" referring of course to his 'work'

Dracula laughed at her answer. "I'm afraid you don't understand WHAT it is I am referring to, my pet." He leaned in uncomfortably close to her. "I'm not interested in reanimating corpses... I can do that just fine on my own, MY way..." He whispered. "...I'm interested in finding a way OUT of this prison... and Victor is so close to the answer. Imagine... free to run a muck where ever you please, memories intact..."
He leaned back. "Freedom for ALL... not just the loved.."

She blinked.... was that even.... was that what was going on in the basement today?
Yes... that would certainly be helpful... but letting a monster like Dracula out of Storybrooke...
He must have known Gold found a way? Didn't he?
"I'm not sure the world outside Storybrooke is ready for someone like you to 'run a muck'" No, not the most intelligent reply, she felt like a child talking to him. He so clearly was a better schemer than she and had many plans

He grinned, sensing her frustration. But he had said enough on that...
He leaned back, toying with Victor's belt buckle. "What shall we talk about now, dear pet?" He sighed. "Would you like to know what your mate-to-be dreams about? Or perhaps which tops of yours he likes to think about... as he touches himself in the cool hours of the evening..." Dracula laughed at her anger. "You're much too fun, pet."

Red swung her fist into his jaw, but it looked like it hurt her hand more than it hurt him.
"You're an absolute sleaze-bag, you know that right?!" She growled holding her pulsating hand in the other

The blow was enough to turn his head, for she was a werewolf, but he was the living undead SUPREME. He laughed at her attempt, but abruptly stopped.
He looked at Victor's dull eyes, fluttering as they grew heavier. Dracula could sense his connection being eroded as the marking took effect. The patient's breathing became less calm, panicked, aware of pain... human. Dracula looked up at Ruby.
"Well, done..." he smirked, but he knew the victory was hers. Let her enjoy it while she can. He stood up and gracefully moved towards the door. "I'll be seeing BOTH of you, very soon, I'm sure..."
And he was gone in an instant.

She watched him leave, ready to give him the finger, the asinine piece of crap.
Victor stirred a bit, clearly the connection was broken between him and Dracula.... but as it broke Red could feel something stronger in her.... his emotions... they were almost as strong as her own. It was surreal, she blinked a moment trying to get a good grasp of what was happening- she knew what but... it was still so odd.
She leaned over and kissed his forehead gentle," its alright Victor, I've got you..." she smiled remembering what he had said to her while she was still in her animal form,"... You can rest now...."

His arm was torture. He tossed uncomfortably in his sleep, images of a black wolf coming at him. He awoke with a startle... to see Ruby... Red... looking down over at him. He reached up with his other hand to stroke her face. His hand fell away, combing through dark hair. His eyes closed again.
The wolf was still there... but Red's loving, hazel eyes were staring out of it at him. And then he slipped into a deep, black, slumber.

Red stayed with him the rest of the night, eventually falling asleep herself. It was a light sleep though, she would wake as he tossed and turned. Everytime caressing him and whispering to him in the same soothing voice he'd used for her/
She couldn't help but feel guilty about what she'd done to him, even if it would save him in the end. Or at least she hoped.... she didn't want to think about what would happen if... if it failed.
By morning she had her arms wraped around him still, though he was much warmer, and shaking

Whale woke up to morning light... and a drenched couch. Well... at least he was ALIVE, thanks to Ruby. Now they just had the fever to-
Before he could even finish the thought, he was vomiting. Luckily Red had the bowl ready. After a few minutes of heaving, he looked at the bowl's contents. "It's... g-going to be...a... long day...isn't it?" Whale breathed. Once he was sure he was safe, he slumped back down. Red had the medication for the fever ready for him, with a glass of water.
"The dressings on the wound need to be replaced, to prevent infection." he whispered. He honestly didn't recall doing the sewing himself... but he must have... he wasn't dead from blood loss.

"I'm sorry...." Red sat down beside him and handed him the meds, then dug through one of the kits she'd placed by the couch,".... Bandages.... Alright...."
Red had done a fairly good job cleaning up the apartment after the other night and because she didnt know the first thing about taking care or wounds or fever patients she had organuzed everything hoping Victor could walk her through it- at least for awhile while she got used to it.
The vomit was pretty gross, but having the memories from the enchanted forest she had developed a stronger stomach than Ruby may have had.
"...alright, you should show me what to do.... In case I have to do this myself later...."
