Just then Ariel heard yelling outside the door, she knew he had someone visiting on his ship. She wondered briefly if he had time to start things with other ladies in this town...
She went to open the door almost smacking Hook in the face with it.
"Oh, Sorry I heard yelling..."

Else knew this girl. She had complimented her on her gorgeous dress... which she was STILL wearing...
"I think we met at the club last night. " Else finally spoke up. "You're Ariel... the mermaid. The mermaid who is new to the ways of the world of men... and quite impressionable." She turned to Hook. "There is a very SPECIAL place in hell for you, Captain Jones."

"She came to me..." Hook said feigning offence, then smiled at Ariel," And I didn't hear any complaints last night... or this morning"
He shrugged," If you stay you can ask her yourself"

"But as I RECALL she left the club very inebriated." Else said, standing her ground. "Do you remember that as well?"

Ariel looked at the pretty women she remember from last night and then back at Hook who was as usual being...well himself.
"Hello, well... yes I did have a lot to drink last night.." Ariel told her.
"Anyway its nice to see you again when its not in a building that's raining and on fire... I should probably go..."
She noticed a tension in the air between Hook and Else. Apparently Else like everyone else thought Hook was taking advantage of Ariel, which he did last night because Ariel had a very blurry idea of what when on herself. Of course not this morning she recalled that just fine.
No one would ever think she knew what he was doing and was willing to use it to her advantage.

"No, by all means STAY. I'm leaving." Else turned to leave but she paused mid-step and got back in front of Ariel. "I GET the whole 'forsake my world for another' vibe you have going... but you have GOT to be careful with who you cast nets with. You take on the traits of the people around you... ANYONE is vulnerable to that. So if you are perfectly content with having the sexual morals of a SEWER RAT... no offense, Captain... then by all means, cast your lot HERE. My suggestion? Find out who YOU are first... before you pride yourself with your fall from Ocean Princess to Pirate floozy."
She glanced at Hook and then Ariel. "And for godssake, Killian, get a PHONE or put a SOCK on the handle or SOMETHING." Else stomped up the stairs.

Hook groaned and watched Else stomp back up the stairs with his breakfast, he swore," I'm sorry Love, just give me a moment"
Hook dashed up the steps,"Else! Please wait!" Hoping his friend would at least hear him out.

The man did lift her personal hellish curse with magical water from a distant land. He at least deserved to have a chance to... redeem himself? Was that why he was chasing after her? The once-queen turned around and waited for him to catch up with her above deck.

Ariel listened to everything Else said to her and she was totally right.
When had she let herself fall this far? She felt hot tears sting her eyes. Hmm crying this hasn't happened yet as a human. Mermaids didn't have tears they washed away before they ever fell.
She went back in the room shutting the door behind her. Ariel sat down on the floor and buried her face in her hands. It was true now she was no longer a princess, she was just nothing. Hook was just someone to hold when she'd spent way to long alone. She wouldn't deny, she liked how he made her feel even if it was just lies.
Now the only question was did she care or was she fooling herself into believing she didn't. Ariel knew she cared for Hook probably more then she should and she always did. If she was being honest he wasn't a good person he loved once a long time ago and probably never would again. Now she was in his bed nothing more then a whore. She let out a tiny sob at that thought, her family would never forgive her and with a pirate none the less.
She already lost everything why not myself. Who was she really anyway Ariel knew she just wanted to experience things. She always had but now it was to late to go back and do things differently. She was stuck now she had a place to stay she asked for the ship back she did it all for Hook and he couldn't care less.
She wanted to scream, throw herself in the ocean and forget all about him. She couldn't do either now and the only time she felt anything was when she was with him. Damn it!

Hook caught up to her," Please, Else.... I... we've known each other a long time?" he tried, but that didn't go over too well either,"Look she came to me and she needed a place to stay-" nope, that sounded worse.
He sighed," What do you want me to say? You can't honestly say you expected better from me? and besides, it's my life and our choices"

Honestly, after their conversation in the hospital, Else HAD hoped that he would AT LEAST attempt to stop using people in such a manner... but perhaps that was too much. But the fact that he felt SOME sort of remorse on the spot, that showed a TINY amount of progress, right? Baby steps...
"Yes... it is. My judgement shouldn't matter whatsoever." Else shrugged, but then she glanced up a at him. "But I imagine that most woman who fall prey to your bed KNOW what they are getting themselves into. Ariel is new to all this, still in her infancy in her existence as a human, and you lead her on during a vulnerable moment. YES, LEAD HER ON, Captain Jones, don't shake your head at me. You're stunting what could be a very STRONG and CHARISMATIC individual for a quick thrill." There. That was the best she could do without bringing up Milah and the fact that Hook couldn't replace the feeling of her loss with a lifetime of nights with several different women.
She handed the food back to him, forgetting that she had held onto it in her brief rage. "I did want to talk to you though; I'm taking a houseboat out yonder, out further into the bay. I need some time away from Hans... while... while we sort things out..." While he filled out the divorce papers she was about to spring on him. She didn't know what else to do. What he did... "No, not to find my 'Neverland'... just to get some fresh salty air, center myself..."
She then grabbed the two coffee cups. "I should give one of these to Ariel... it'll help with the hangover." She shrugged at his expression. "You've been bad, Captain Jones. You've lost your right to a hot coffee this morning." She said, blinking up at him, taking a sip of the other cup.
She went back to the Captain's Cabin and knocked lightly on the door. "Ariel, it's Else." She opened the door to see the red headed mermaid crying on the floor. Else instantly felt the guilty weight of a hundred bricks. "Ariel?" Else when over to her, sitting beside her. She offered the cup to the mermaid. "This will help... with the headache. I promise."

Ariel looked up at Else handing her a warm drink, she took it grateful.
"Thanks," She said wiping tears from her eyes she sniffed a few times and took a drink.
"Your right you know, everything you said. I'm guess I am just not what I used to be and maybe I can't handle that."
Ariel laughed it was a cold sound. "Well I never actually fit in at home either but I felt something with him. Surprising right, I mean he is just a cold heartless bastard."
She hugged her legs closer and wished for the first time since she became human. She was a mermaid again.

Else sighed. She should have been more tactful with her lecture. She went overboard, sometimes... even if she felt it had to be said.
"You've seen the inside of ONE MAN'S boat, and PARTS of a small town." Else spoke gently. "There is so much more to the world... it's hardly fair to imply that you've FAILED at being human. In fact, it's in our very nature to make mistakes... so you should be feeling more then one with human nature right about now." She grinned.
She sighed again. "IF Captain Jones is being charitable enough to offer shelter, then perhaps it is the best arrangement, given the hard economics. Rent and mortgages are a complete BITCH right now... but don't let such an arrangement be at the expense of YOUR integrity. Find a job, meet more people, contribute to something larger then yourself... and then decide if this-" Else gestured to the bedroom around her. "Is what you want."
She leaned in close so only Ariel could hear the next bit of advice. "Don't make decisions when your drunk, down in the dumps, or just wanting to FEEL something... because chances are, you will want to feel that 'something' with someone who can feel something back." She took a sip of her coffee.

Ariel looked over at Else, she was right Ariel really didn't have another choice either way.
"I would like to see more of this world, I am hoping to one day. For now I guess this will have to do and you're right I do hope to accomplish something more with my life." Ariel told her sipping the coffee it was helping her feel better.
"Thank you for your honesty, it helps. I know I just need to figure things out a bit more, I'll get there."
She gave her a quick hug.

Else accepted the hug, startled at how quick it came it came at her.
"Oh... of course you will, sweetie." Else said. When she pulled away she reached into her purse to pull out one of her business cards. She wrote her home number on the back. "If you need anything, or just someone to talk to... about ANYTHING... just go up to one of the payphones downtown, put 25 cents in the slot, and dial this number, okay?"
