The captor chuckled; his laughter ringing like soothing music throughout the warehouse. “Oh Victor… I would sooner set fire to ‘The Last Supper’ then cause offense to the body which harbors such a brilliant mind…”
Another silent command to Edward Brown. The enslaved man moved sluggishly forward to draw the sheet off.
“But down to business, then, good doctor.” The man in black casually sauntered down the walkway of the upper level. “It seems I have exhausted my latest plaything…”
The young doctor moved back away as the corpse of a young woman was revealed. “Bring her back.”

Whale took a step back. The girl couldn’t have been much more the 18. Her glassy eyes stared at him through knotted chestnut hair, a slight startled expression echoed on her slack face. Whale finally approached her, placing a hand on her cheek.
All of this was to rile him up, to poke and prod at the Frankenstein man, but for what reason the young doctor didn’t have a clue. And he was deeply saddened that this young soul had to forfeit her life to be an unwilling participate in this dark game.
“You’re wasting BOTH of our time with this… this MADNESS.” He finally said. “I don’t have some supernatural power of restoring life… SCIENCE is the power… and even if I wanted to play your game I don’t have the resources to even begin bringing your ‘plaything’ back.” Anger was rising in him now. “You haven’t even had the decency to preserve the body properly-” he brushed her hair back…and saw it. Two distinctive puncture wounds on her the side of her neck, very close to the right carotid artery; they were not clean, as if by surgical administration… but torn into.
He drew his hand back as if touching hot iron. Whale’s false memories supplied him with enough background as a middle-schooler watching ‘Buffy’ religiously to know what this entire situation was insinuating…
Before he could back away, the vampire was right behind him, whispering sharply into his ear.

Whale took off running. Brown was after him, but the doctor threw the forgotten tumbler in his hand at the slave’s head to slow him down. He flew by numerous offices, LOCKED offices, jiggling the handles fervently. Finally a door opened; there was a window with a blinder squelching out the early afternoon sunlight.
SUNLIGHT. That’s what he needed! Sunlight was safety! Whale ripped the blinds off and felt around for a latch to open it. Getting impatient, he took a swivel chair away from a nearby desk and chucked it out the window. He quickly scrambled out through the new opening and fell into snow.
He turned around just in time to see the vampire’s face peering out at him from inside the broken window; the bright light reflecting from the snow revealing his eyes true blood-red hue.
Whale was frozen stiff from fear, but the winter sun on his back assured him that he was safe…
…Until that damned creature proceeded to gracefully descend from the window as well, regardless of the fact his skin was sizzling and peeling back from his bone.
“Awww…Sh**!” Whale blurted, scrambling to get up from his spot on the ground and run like hell.

Dracula gnashed his fangs together, to bite back the unimaginable torture inflicted by the merciless sun. He grabbed his prey by the shirt collar and held the man in an inescapable embrace against his rapidly deteriorating chest.
He bared his teeth and sank his fangs deep into the young doctor’s neck. Victor cried out in agony, but after a moment, his struggling started to subside. Although the man’s youthful blood acted as a slight soothing balm, giving brief pause to the sun’s punishing beams, the vampire knew that he had to make this quick. He lowered the limp man to the snow.
“There’s a good man…” Dracula said rather huskily, relinquishing Victor’s throat and patting his damp blonde hair. The man’s blue eyes were slightly open; barely cognizant of what was occurring. The ancient vampire chuckled at the young man’s thoughts which he could now hear as if they were his own. “No… I have no intention of turning you. To dull the shimmer of that mind, dumbing it down with bloodlust. No, my sweet Victor. But this is necessary… so I may ‘keep tabs’ on you and your progress.”
Suddenly the vampire looked up. To the human eye it would appear that he was looking up at nothing… but he could sense the shewolf, as far away as she was. She was coming for the scientist. “We will be in touch… Victor Frankenstein.”

Whale finally dared to open his eyes… he was alone in the cold snow. He labored to stand on his two feet, and walk. Just in any direction, as long as it was away from the warehouse of TERROR. His hand slowly, shakily, went up to his neck. He could feel the blood, but he kept his hand pressed there…
Just keep walking, he told himself, stumbling with each step.

She was getting closer, she had to be- his scent was far stronger than before
"Victor!" Red called, airing on the side of desperate,"VICTOR!" She stopped a moment, there were footsteps- they sounded like they were coming from a man about his size, Red turned on her heels and dashed in that direction. As she turned a corner she saw Whale stumbling away from a more... desolate part of town.
"Victor!" She called a third time as she made his way over to him, relieved that he was alive. She stopped in front of him and smiled," Victor, are you alright-" her brown eyes widened when she saw the blood seeping from under his fingers.

Victor's head sluggishly turned towards the sound of his name being called... his TRUE name, as the Vampire would not let him forget... and fooled himself into thinking he saw Ruby coming towards him. He blinked at the mirage, but it didn't waver.
And then she was infront of him... smiling and asking if he was alright. He tried to laugh, but it came out more of a choke. He would have said something back to make her laugh, but words didn't seem very important at the moment.
He dropped to his knees and hugged her around the waist. He breathed deeply, trying not to cry in front of her. It wasn't very manly to cry, or so his father always said.
"I'm... really ... REALLY glad to see you again...Ruby Lucas..." Whale murmured, though if she could hear him with his face pressed against her was beyond him.

Ruby gasped a little surprised to see Whale in such a state," Oh my god..."
She sank into the snow and lifted his head so their eyes met," I'm glad to see you to," She wrapped her arms him," It's gonna be okay, I'll call the sheriff and we'll get you out of here alright?"

Victor watched as her lips moved, only vaguely aware of what she was saying to him. But her soothing tone had its effect on him. He nodded, agreeing to whatever she had just said... because Ruby knew best at the moment. Whale was in too much shock to think straight. In all his years of surgery and... the gory experiments... he had never suffered a violent injury before.
Not until he had his arm ripped off by Regina's Daniel. THIS experience came in at a close second...
Whale was edging towards the surface of his senses now. He glanced back and nodded at the warehouse in the distance.
"There..." he breathed. "Three of them... the girl is dead." Ruby began to stand up, as if to investigate. "NO, DON'T!" He said, seizing her arm, pulling her back down. He couldn't bare it if that MONSTER did anything to Ruby.

"okay, okay, don't worry...I won't go anywhere..." She pulled out her cell, though she was still eyeing the blood Whale was covering up with his fingers. Red touched her fingers over his, gently pulling them down so she could see....
"Oh my God..." They were definitely teeth marks.... from what she couldn't tell.... another werewolf? No he would have been torn to shreds..... she swallowed and dialed the number.

David finished grabbing more tools from around the office for Emma's detailing of Whale's apartment when the phone rang.
He was in a terrible rush... but every person in Storybrooke mattered. Maybe it was just someone complaining about Pongo's barking again. He picked up the phone.
"Hello, Sheriff's office, this is Deputy Noland speaking..."

"James, I found him" Red said into the phone," He's alive but I need you to come pick us up alright? We're... I don't know- somewhere between Shelley street and... I think 103rd? I'll try and get him to the corner by Shelley...." She took another deep breath, trying to keep calm....
She looked at Whale again, he was starting to shiver in the cold," I'll see you when you get here okay?" but she didn't wait for him to answer, she hung up and returned her attention to Whale," Do you think you can walk?"

He slowly nodded.
With a great effort, and with Ruby's help, he got to his feet. He leaned in close to her...because her warmth seemed to even seep through her thick coat. He was, after all, only in his blue button down dress shirt and an under shirt. He hoped he didn't appear too much of a wimp to her as he huddled.

Ruby held onto him, the corner wasn't to far but she could tell already that this was VERY painful for Whale.
They made it to an old bench and she helped him down, giving him her coat and scarf- yeah it probably didn't fit him right, or (dear lord) look decent on him- but he was turning blue. Red took a seat beside him and put her arm around him, she leaned in close and closed her eyes,"I'm glad you're okay Victor..."
