"Come now, Edward Brown," the man said. "Is that anyway to treat our guest?" The man in black apparently had a leather-bound book in his long, graceful hands.
He could hear the captive make noises of protest against his gag, but the captor raised an index to his lips. "Shhhhh... it's coming to the best part... the END." The man shifted his attention back to the book, raising it up, and grandly reading out loud: "'My spirit will sleep in peace; or if it thinks, it will not surely think thus. Farewell.'" The man gently closed the book. "...And then he simply leaps out of the ship, to be carried away by the waves into distance and darkness." He gave a sigh as if moved, before tossing the book down onto the lower floor of the warehouse.
The book skidded to it's resting place right in front of the prisoner's feet. 'Frankenstein', it said.
The mysterious stranger placed his pale hands on the railing and leaned against it.
"Victor Victor Victor..." he sighed. "It is such a pleasure to finally meet you in the flesh..."

Five times. FIVE that she had asked if someone could page Whale, Red groaned and leaned back into the waiting chair in the lobby, in her hand she had a bag of rolls and a little bowl of soup all neatly packaged and prepared by Red herself.
The Hell with this, she tossed the bag to the chair beside her and reached for her phone, Maybe Emma or Snow would know what was going on

David followed Gretta around the corner.
"She saw him last... last night." She said, flatly. She didn't let on when she was concerned, but she was concerned about Dr. Whale not showing up... especially since he was seen leaving the hospital with the town WEREWOLF at night. "If she ate that boy, I swear to-"
"Gretta, PLEASE." David said, calming the woman down. "It wasn't even a Wolf's Moon last night... just... I'll handle this, okay?"
"Mmmmhmmm." Gretta eyed that skinny werewolf waitress and walked away.
David strolled up to Red. "Good morning Red." he nodded, taking a seat by her. "So... there's been some slight confusion about the whereabouts of our Dr. Frankenstein..." he said, keeping things light. "... and he was last seen with you. Do you have ANY idea where he could be? It hasn't been 24 hours yet, so I feel like this is a little over-kill, but the staff swears by his punctuality... and he was do in by 8 this morning."

Red gave Gretta a look as she seemed to stalk away from them, then turned her attention to Charming," No... I guess I don't... you mean he's not here?" Red blinked and bit her lip," I guess we were out a little later last night.... No I didn't mean it like that!" Red added that last bit rather quickly.
She then turned and grabbed the bag from the seat with her stuff," We went for a walk after his shift the other night, and I guess we lost track of time" She shrugged nervously,"I wanted to make sure he was alright and I had some extra soup.... he hasn't been answering his phone so I came here"

David blinked. "Wow...first Snow, and now you..." He muttered under his breath. "What IS this guy's secret?"
He shook his head, pushing that train of thought away. FAR AWAY. "Well, we have seen him bow out under pressure before... maybe he's just feeling overloaded and ran away? Like last time?" David chuckled, but Red didn't look so amused.
"Red?"

"yeah...." Red hadn't missed the first comment either, she took a breath and turned," Well, if he is feeling a little low again, I'll go find him..."
She grabbed her things, not waiting for so called 'Prince Charming', and started out the door- she was already pretty familiar with his scent so she might even be able to find him faster than last time.

He had said something wrong... and he didn't know what.
Okay, maybe the first comment had been uncalled for. David ran to catch up with her.
"Red... hey, Red!" He finally caught up with her and gently grabbed her arm. "Look, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to.." David was at a loss for words: did Red actually CARE about WHALE? "I just don't like the guy, okay? I have my reasons... after all he was in league with Regina, making sure that I stayed in a COMA for 28 years... but if your gut is telling you something is wrong... then I want to help. You're my friend, Red."
He directed her to his car. "Let's swing by his place first... maybe he just slept in, if you kept him up most of the night." His hands went up in surrender at the look she shot him. "HANGING OUT... whatever... let's just go see."

"Alright, sounds like a good place to start," She gave a small smile," lead the way"
The two of them made their way to Whales apartment, it was on the fourth floor, and it seemed like a nice building. When they came to his hallway, Red hurried over to his door.... which was slightly ajar, She gave a quick knock as she entered," Whale...?"

David held her back. He took out his gun and led the way, not wanting Red to get hurt if there were any surprises. Everything looked pretty much in place; no signs of struggle. Whale's coat was hung up, tie strewn on the table...
He was about to proceed to the bedroom when he saw it; dark crimson stains on the light carpet. Not a lot of it, but it was definitely blood. "Red." He called.
As she walked over to the spot, he took out his phone and dialed the Sheriff's Office. He needed Emma's help on this one.

Red hurried in," Did you-" She stopped when she saw the stain on the floor, she swallowed," James...."

David put the phone to his neck while he waited to get thru.
The Prince looked her squarely in the eyes. "Red... it looks bad, but there's not a lot there. They probably knocked him out, and took him elsewhere-" Red made a noise at that. "-but that means that he could STILL BE ALIVE."
There finally was a voice on the phone. David turned away. "Emma? Emma it's David... we have a situation. We think there's been an abduction... you're on your way? Good, I'm here with Red... The address? It's..." David turned around, needing to look at Red to verify their location, but she wasn't there.
"Red?" He called.

Red was already gone, She was going to find Whale HER way because damnit she's the only one who could actually find him!
She sniffed the air.... she could tell exactly what he smelled like, you'd think it be like hand-sanitizer or cough medicine.... but no. Whale had kind of a musky sweet smell- it was subtle though, the closest thing was something she remembered from the old world, a kind of scent that came from the deepest part of the forest, though Red had never been able to find exactly where it was from.
She just remembered it had sort of a healing effect from those days when she truly hated herself....
There it was! She caught it, without a second thought she followed it praying Victor would hold on just a little bit longer

Whale waited, as the entranced Farmer Brown rolled a squeaking cart into the main area, a short distance from him. There was a sheet covering the surface’s contents, but the young doctor had enough experience… real and imagined… to recognize a human form underneath the covering.
His blue eyes gazed up at the man in black, questioning.

“Merely something to warm the blood, dear Victor.” he simply replied. Edward Brown peeled back a corner of the sheet to reveal a thick tumbler and hefty crystal bottle full of Geneva Gin. The man smiled at his prisoner, staring down at the pale face of the Doctor like a bird of prey. “I’ve read that you are quite the fan… no?”
Edward Brown instantly stalked over to the prisoner and removed the gag. He cut the bonds as well, under his Master’s silent commands. The confused Victor Frankenstein slowly stood up from his seat…

Whale rubbed his sore wrists as the zip tie fell away from his hands. His body ached, but he stood up, trying his best not to appear cowardly. He cautiously approached the table. “Geneva Gin” the bottle said… though it could be poisoned. He looked up at his captor.
No... This mysterious man was dangerous. Capable of killing the helpless doctor at any moment… he wanted something…
Whale removed the stopper and poured himself a glass, hoping that his abductors couldn’t hear how badly the crystal was rattling in his hands. He took a sip. He had to blink back the bite of the stuff, but it did warm his insides as it trickled down. The doctor glanced down at the covered form… most definitely a human body… before he took another bold sip and asked his captor: “Are you going to kill me?”
