The Piper had heard the approaching horses as well. He managed to spot the guards just before Robin pulled him (and Little Buddy) into hiding. He swore under his breath before seeing the woman draw her bow, What?! What was she...?! His eyes grew.

They were still far enough down the path that they couldn't see them, she quickly shot an arrow into the bushes. Causing the guards to follow the rustling, and creating the perfect opportunity to run in the opposite direction. Again Robin grabbed Oliver and ran as far away from the guards as she could.

Once again, Oliver watched as the guards followed the shot arrow in the direction opposite before Robin took him by the wrist and urged him onward in the other direction.

After they had gained some distance from the guards Robin slowed to a stop. She leaned against a tree panting, trying to catch her breath. Robin looked down the direction they'd come to make sure they weren't being pursued , she had made the mistake of underestimating her enemies before and paid dearly for it. She would want to move on soon but they had time...
Robin, still a little out of breath looked up at Oliver,"Now would probably be a good time to tell me what's going on" her hands were stinging again from the flight.

The Piper checked on Litttle Buddy once they stopped. "Sorry Little Buddy, I'll warn you next time. ...Maybe tis best you stay in the pouch for now."
He then looked up to the woman with him. "I guess I owe you that much, hmm?" he quipped (though rather weakly). "After all, you didn't just leave me there to get caught...." Oliver held out his hands to show he wanted to check hers once more before he started to talk. "Have you heard of the rodent problem in the kingdom of Hamlin? ...That's where Little Buddy and I are....running from...." the man started.

She walked over to him slowly, still a little out of breath. Robin gave him her hands, hesitating a little since she wasn't use to this kind if genuine concern. She listened to him intently, she remembered hearing something about the rats in Hamlin...
"So... What? You stuffed them in your pockets and ran? Only to find that the king wanted to keep them as lords and ladies in his own personal council?" she smirked.

He chuckled. "I wish" the Piper replied. "No, I actually ridded the kingdom of all rats like the king wished. However, I was not given the reward promised and.....some words were...'exchanged' and that night the kingdom's children....disapeared.." he trailed off.

Robin eyed him suspiciously, he could be lying. Trying to gain her sympathy only to use her later on. However he seemed genuine enough, actually upset. Not to mention if he had kidnapped an entire Kingdoms worth of children he would have to keep them somewhere... Not an easy task.
"... And the King assumed it was you who took them..." She finished, still a little cautious."Do you have any idea where they are now?"

"Aye....I am a wanted man now..." he said softly. "And I am innocent! But unless I can find where the children have gone and bring them back...." The Piper gave a sigh. "I have no idea where they might be..." he trailed of then his eyes grew. The Piper swore softly then. "That bloody bastard..! He couldn't have...!" Oliver gave a groan of dispare then and slid to the ground, head in his hands.

Robin sank to the ground with him, touching a hand to his shoulder. She believed him, every word, it's not like she'd never encountered a guilty criminal.
"You... You think you know what happened to them?"

"Right now? I can only think of one man who would do this...and have me take the blame..." the Piper said softly. "All because -he- was the one whom gave my flute its ability..."

A pang of fear punched Robin's gut, she had a feeling about where this was going. The amount of men with that kind of power were few, and only one who would actually do such an awful deed... ability....?
"What ability?" her eyes serious and locked onto his.

"It is...better that I show you..." The Piper motioned for her to take a seat. He then did as well and let Little Buddy out of his pouch. Taking out his flute from an inside vest pocket, Oliver placed the instrument to his lips and began to play. Closing his eyes, he pictured what it was he wanted Little Buddy to do. First, the rodant began to dance. He actually danced on all four paws!

Robin watched the Rat dance in utter amazement, and the music.... Oh the music. It was the most enchanting thing that had ever been presented to her.

It wasn't long however that the rat soon began to behave as if ir were searching for something. It found a daisy, nawed it off by the base of the stem, and brought it over to Robin.
